I saw this Christmas tag on another blog and I thought this would be a cool festive way for some of my readers to get to know me.
- What is your favorite Christmas Movie/s?
I love Christmas movies and I can’t choose just one, so here’s my top 3 movies. When I was younger Home Alone was by far the best Christmas movie ever. My younger brother and I watched it at least five times every season. Another favorite of mine is The Grinch with Jim Carey. Any child growing up in the late 80’s/early 90’s can appreciate Jim Carey’s greatness. Last but not least Friday After Next. Unlike my children centered movies, there is nothing wrong with a little dirty humor. My siblings and I can quote every word of Friday After Next as if we wrote it ourselves. Definitely one of my favorite movies ever!
- Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
My parents always woke my siblings and I up to open presents at midnight. We had a tradition of watching Christmas movies in our Christmas pajamas eating Christmas cookies (Yes we are a very festive family! Lol) on Christmas Eve. Then our parents had us in bed by 9 p.m. so we can open gifts by midnight. By the time I was about 11, my siblings and I would just lay awake in bed waiting on midnight to come.
- Do you have a favorite Christmas memory?
I don’t think I do. Every Christmas has been special to me and I don’t think any year has topped the last. Of course the gifts are different each year but I still get the same happy feeling every year just being with my family. 😍😍
- Favorite festive food?
I don’t have a favorite festive food. I enjoy baking cookies with my family and drinking hot chocolate but nothing special.
- Favorite Christmas gift?
My favorite gift is the diamond J pendant my parents bought me when I was about 16. My first digital camera was also one of my favorites. I’ve always been a selfie queen. I came out the womb serving baby! 👸🏾👸🏾💁🏾💁🏾
- Favorite Christmas scent?
Hmm. I like the smell of baked goods so I guess I will say gingerbread or maybe just cookies. If I could eat chocolate chip cookies everyday of my life without getting fat, I promise I would! The smell, the taste! It’s everything.
- Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Well I see I was so wrapped up in my Christmas memories that I already answered this in question 2. Yes, my family has a Christmas eve tradition of watching Christmas movies, eating Christmas cookies, and drinking hot chocolate in our Christmas pajamas. We also get our stockings as a pre-Christmas gift. But on Christmas day my siblings and I normally go see a movie. We don’t care what’s in theaters we find something to watch on Christmas day.
- What tops your tree?
A large red bow as shown in the photo above. I lost my pretty gold angel during my moving process. (Tears) She was so gorgeous!
- As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
I asked for a Chevy Tahoe when I was fifteen. I didn’t even have a license yet but I felt like I needed that Tahoe. Later, I settled for an all black 2006 Chevy Impala with a rear spoiler. I didn’t get that for Christmas either but I did get a silver Impala as an high school graduation gift. So it all worked in my favor in the end. Lol
- What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
The best part about Christmas is spending time with my family. The holidays are more important to me now that my siblings and I are all grown because we all live in different cities. So for the holidays we all get together and just have a great time with one another. The holidays makes me want to convince all of my relatives to move back to our hometown so we can see each other more often. I also love sharing our traditions with our babies (my nieces and nephews) and watching their eyes light up in excitement at all of the gifts they received. It’s my favorite time of the year.
- What’s your favorite Christmas song?
Top five, top five, top five. (in drake voice) I mean I don’t know if you are familiar with the song I’m referencing but every time I say top 5 I think of that Drake adlib but anywayyyyy. I have a top 5 list of favorite Christmas songs and this list isn’t in any particular order but they are my favorite!
- Sleigh Ride by TLC. I love this song because it was so fun and upbeat.
- All I want for Christmas by Mariah Carey is a classic and it just can’t be left off the list.
- This Christmas by Chris Brown. You can’t say he didn’t start that song slanging! I love his version.
- The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on a Open Fire) by Nat King Cole.
- Silent Night By Temptations. My daddy has been playing this Temptations Christmas album the entire month of December since I could remember. Between Temptations and the Luther Vandross Christmas album I don’t know which I heard the most. 😒
- Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
At this very moment, not at all. I did know the song when I was younger but yep all I know about is Rudolph.

My festive living room this year!
Oh and my mom pulled out the old embarrassing Christmas pictures of us. Thought I’d share with you even though my big little sister will see this and have a mild heart attack. I love you sissy Lol Happy Holidays everyone!
The drake ad lip killed me because I sure read it in that voice! LOL. Why have I never thought of Friday After Next as a Christmas movie? I’m sitting here like, “well, that makes sense.” LOL

My favorite Christmas movies are The Grinch That Stole Christmas, Friday After Next, This Christmas, The Best Holiday, and Almost Christmas.
When I was a kid, we’d open up one gift on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas Day.
I have tons of Christmas memories, but the one that stand out is when my siblings/cousins and I dressed alike for Christmas. The girls wore white turtlenecks with red pants and the boys wore white turtlenecks with green pants. HOT MESS! LOL!
As far as festive food, I don’t have one but foods I must have for Christmas are dressing, Mac & Cheese, and Ham.
My favorite Christmas gift…I cannot recall. I look forward to the family time vs gifts.
My favorite Christmas scent is definitely pumpkin spice!
My Christmas Eve tradition is having a pajama party where the family play board/card games, watch Christmas movies, bake goods, and open one gift.
There is a gold star at the top of our Christmas tree. Hopefully we find an angel for next year.
I really did not have an extravagent gift that I wanted for Christmas. I was a simple kid!
The best part of Christmas to me is the quality time that I spend with family. It is the memories that we make with each other that I look forward to each year. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
My favorite Christmas CDs are from Mariah Carey and the Temptations.
