Beauty Favorites

Fall is here and it’s my favorite season for all things makeup. The sweltering heat in Texas is gone and the nice cool weather has arrived. So I am jumping back into the swing of things. Here are a few of my favorite makeup items.

Eyeshadow

Juvia’s Place, Naked 3, and Naked Heat eyeshadow palettes. These two are easily my favorite eyeshadow palettes ever. The quality of both brands are amazing and they work really well for people of all shades. I have to say that some of these makeup brands don’t create eyeshadow that truly pop on us brown girls so these brands are a must have for me. Price: Juvia’s Place $20- 36.50. Mascara

Too Faced Better than sex mascara. Now I sort of struggle in the eyelash department. When I don’t have mascara on, they are barely visible and I hate it. But this mascara gives me length and volume. It doesn’t clump up and it isn’t too sticky. Its also easy to remove with either a makeup wipe or cleanser. I’ve had problems with some mascara clumping up so bad on my lashes that my lashes come out when trying to remove the mascara. I don’t have that problem with this product. Foundation

Naked Skin by Urban Decay and Makeup Forever Ultra HD foundation. I like both products because they are very light. Its light to medium coverage, so I still look like myself when I wear it but it is also a buildable foundation for a heavier coverage. I’m one of those girls who likes light foundation so that my beauty marks that I’ve grown to love are still visible. I love my moles and freckles, so I at least like my moles to still be visible because that’s what makes me, me. Only complaint I have is the lack of shade options for Urban Decay. Eyeliner

Urban decay eye pencil is one of my favorite eyeliners. I have these eyeliners in several colors, such as black, purple, metallic, blue, and green. The black liner is my day to day liner. I love the darkness of the black and it’s nice, smooth, and easy to apply. Every now and then I like going for a nice pop of color on my bottom lash line. I’ve also used these as lip liners, yes I said lip liners. Since I love purple lipstick, the deep purple liner pairs perfectly with a light purple shade of lipstick. Makeup Remover

SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Makeup Remover. I love, love,  love this stuff. It’s effective at getting all of the makeup off. Now I’m the person who really has to condition skin after wearing makeup all day. So I usually cleanse my face with my favorite facial cleanser and even use a mask to hydrate my skin. But this cleansing water helps get hard to reach places that I can’t always reach just with my basic skin cleaning routine. I usually use a cotton round and wipe the makeup around the creases of my eyes in some of those hard to reach, scared to put cleansing soap areas; and it comes off with ease. Great product for removing makeup! With this product there are also options for sensitive skin and mattifying oily skin. Prices starting at 3.99 and it can be purchased at Target, Ulta, Walmart, and some drug stores. 

Fenty Beauty

Last but definitely least. All Fenty products! I haven’t had a chance to get my hands on all the products yet and I still haven’t gotten my foundation because my shade is out of stock but the samples of foundation I had gave me life! Perfect match for my skin. The colors were so close that I really had to try three different shades to match my color and they were all pretty damn good. Definitely a first for me. What I did get to buy was the lipgloss, match sticks, and an highlighter. Let me just tell you about this highlighter tho. I don’t really use highlighter on my face because I like to look natural and don’t like the shine that much but this highlighter was so beautiful that I couldn’t leave it. I plan on using it as eyeshadow and a pop of color on my lipstick which I will definitely include in my fall lipstick shades blog coming soon. Buy Fenty!
